The "20,000" (often expressed as 20k) refers to 20,000 millimeters (mm) of water a fabric can withstand before water begins to seep through. A rating of 20,000 mm is considered a high level of waterproofness, suitable for heavy, sustained rain and demanding conditions. MVP 50,000 (Breathability Rating) MVP stands for Moisture Vapour Permeability, often referred to as MVTR (Moisture Vapor Transmission Rate). This measures how well the fabric allows sweat (in vapor form) to escape from the inside of the garment to the outside. A rating of 50,000 g/m2/24h indicates excellent breathability, ideal for high-intensity activities where significant perspiration is expected, helping to prevent a damp and clammy feeling.
