The 44th edition of Ryder Cup will be held this year, from 25th September - 1st October at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club near Rome, Italy. Ryder Cup is the largest golf tournament in the world and since 10 years, Abacus Sportswear is one of the Ryder Cup logo licencees. This means we have garments and accessories with Ryder Cup logo, sold at the official Ryder Cup webshop and also at Marco Simone.

Swedish Peter Hanson, ambassador for abacus®, has represented Europe in the Ryder Cup on two occasions: 2010 and 2012. Both years, Europe won over the USA with 14.5-13.5.What is so special about the Ryder Cup, Peter?
The team spirit! As individual athletes, we rarely get the opportunity
to play and act as a team. Winning the Ryder Cup and celebrating
the victory as a team is a fantastic experience, which I will always carry with me!
What was decisive for you to be able to win the Ryder Cup both years?
I think the most decisive thing was that we had extremely strong teams
on both occasions. Medinah were probably two of the strongest teams
both continents have ever faced.
Which players do you think we will see in the European team?
There are certain players such as Rory, Rahm and a few more.
Then the remaining 6-7 places are very open.
I hope we take the opportunity and let some young talent play.
