waterproof warranty and care
WATERPROOF WARRANTY
Our lifetime warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the product, however it does not cover normal wear that accumulates over time.
The lifetime warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, inappropriate use, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of materials, coatings and colors over extended time and use.
KEEP YOUR GEAR CLEAN
Keep your outerwear performing at its peak by consistently and meticulously removing the dirt from the outer layers of fabric. To do this, put your waterproof gear in the wash while ensuring that your pockets are empty. It's imperative that only regular liquid detergent is used, steering clear of fabric conditioner, bleach, or powdered detergents as these can strip the DWR coating.
Under no circumstances should you dry clean your outerwear. When washing is completed, hang it dry.
REAPPLY DWR
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating isn't just a fancy add-on, it's a fundamental feature utilized in all waterproof outerwear to enhance breathability. It gives rise to the superhero ability of your garment to make water bead off its surface. However, it's not invincible. After enduring a certain time period or battling through heavy use, this coating may confront defeat, leading to water saturating or "wetting out" the valiant outer layer of your gear. While the inner layers hold strong against precipitation penetration, they must compromise on breathability in this scenario. Remember to take charge of maintaining your gear and stay boldly waterproof!
There are some great products on the market. We recommend Grangers or Nikwax spray-on variants. Spray-on is preferred so you are able to apply the new DWR coating to the outer layer of fabric only.
