The "20,000" (often expressed as 20k) refers to 20,000 millimeters (mm) of water a fabric can withstand before water begins to seep through. I will not even consider another clothing line, and my wife would be mortally disappointed if I even considered golf attire from Peter Millar, Callaway or G/FORE. We have tried them all, and Sandrine's clothes are simply higher quality, and her styles and broad selection humble the aforementioned competition. I own 3 Abacus wind and rain jackets and they are hands down the best I have ever owned. Lightweight, nice fit and no “crinkle” sound when you swing. They keep me warm when it is cold but are amazingly cool when it is hot and humid rain.
